Peter Grosslight Memorial Fund
The Lustgarten Foundation extends our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of music industry pioneer Peter Grosslight, who passed away on August 21, 2014 after a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer.
A 20-year veteran of William Morris Endeavor, Grosslight was most recently its global head of music. Grosslight’s clients included Joan Baez, Charlotte Church, The Eagles, Whitney Houston, Journey, Luis Miguel, Tom Petty, Brian Setzer and Carly Simon.
After Grosslight was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last June, he organized a sold-out gala fundraiser for The Lustgarten Foundation, which was the first event to take place at the reinvented Forum. The benefit raised more than $12.5 million for the fight against pancreatic cancer. This included nearly $2.5 million that went directly to supporting The Lustgarten Foundation’s efforts to detect the disease earlier, develop better treatments, and ultimately, find a cure. Stand Up To Cancer also announced that one of its funding partners would commit an additional $10 million to help support the ongoing fight to beat this lethal disease. Approximately 1,260 guests attended the inaugural event, which featured the legendary Eagles performing in honor of Grosslight, their former agent, who served as one of the Gala chairs. The evening, hosted by Chris Harrison from ABC’s The Bachelor, also included performances by Joan Baez and JD & The Straight Shot.
Grosslight’s family has requested donations in memory of Peter to The Lustgarten Foundation to establish The Peter Grosslight Memorial Fund.
