Patient Advocate Foundation
Patient Advocate Foundation is a national non-profit organization that seeks to safeguard patients through effective mediation assuring access to care, maintenance of employment and preservation of financial stability. Case Managers are available to assist patients in accessing legal resources, managed care consultants, and national financial resources regarding denial of insurance coverage, employment discrimination, public assistance programs, and related issues.
Loyola Cancer Legal Resource Center

The Cancer Legal Resource Center provides free and confidential information and resources on cancer-related legal issues to people with cancer, their families, friends, employers, health care professionals, and others coping with cancer. The Center, a joint program of Loyola Law School and the Disability Rights Legal Center (formerly Western Law Center for Disability Rights), has a national toll free Telephone Assistance Line where callers can receive information about relevant laws and resources for their particular situation. The Center provides trainings for support groups, survivors, caregivers, health care professionals, hospitals, cancer organizations, and other community groups. The Center's callers can also be matched with volunteer attorneys and other professionals for additional legal information.
The Center On Medical Record Rights and Privacy
Based at Georgetown University's Health Policy Institute, the Center is dedicated to raising public awareness of the rights and responsibilities associated with medical records and other health information. The Center also provides state-by-state consumer guides intended to help individuals understand the rights to their medical records under HIPAA laws.

The Medicare Rights Center is a national, nonprofit consumer service organization that works to ensure access to affordable health care for older adults and people with disabilities through counseling and advocacy, educational programs and public policy initiatives. They offers services for people with medicare and their caregivers, as well as education programs.
Cancers and Careers
A program of the CEW Foundation (the charitable arm of Cosmetic Executive Women, Inc.), Cancer and Careers provides a comprehensive website, free publications, and a series of support groups and educational seminars for employees with cancer. Cancer and Careers offers Living and Working with Cancer, a free workbook available in English and Spanish.
A member of Consumer Federation of America, Quackwatch is a non-profit organization dedicated to combating health-related frauds, myths, fads and fallacies. Founded and managed by Dr. Stephen Barrett, Quackwatch offers an entire Cancer Quackery section for patients that lists and describes various "fraudulent" cancer treatments.
