A Family Affair
My husband and I started this walk to honor his mother and my best friend, who both passed away from pancreatic cancer. It was difficult to see people we cared about fight so hard every day, and we knew we wanted to join the fight against this disease and make a difference. After losing our loved ones, we heard a radio ad for the Lustgarten Walk in Skowhegan, ME and learned of the amazing research the Foundation was funding. We spoke with our six children and decided to make the walk a family affair. In less than one month, we raised more than $800. Each year, we walk as a family in honor of the most amazing mother, best friend, grandmother, and great grandmother.
