Virtually Walk for Research
Where 100% of Every Dollar Raised Goes Directly to Pancreatic Cancer Research
Welcome to our Maryland Area Pancreatic Cancer Research Walks! We’re so glad you’re here.
Usually, at our series of Maryland walks you would join hundreds of patients, survivors, family, friends and other supporters, for an inspiring day of hope, love and, yes, tears.
This year, however, there is no normal thanks to COVID-19 and we will be unable to hold our Maryland area walks in person. And while we would always rather walk together, we are excited to walk #TogetherAlone as our Annapolis and Howard County Walks go virtual.
On Sunday, September 13, you can skip the car ride and forget about parking. Instead, lace up your sneakers and head to the sidewalk outside your home, the neighborhood block, your own backyard or even your hallway, and join thousands of other stepping up for pancreatic cancer research.
As a virtual walker, you can still show your neighborhood pride by registering for the Annapolis or Howard County Walk. The funds you raise will be counted toward that market goal; however, every penny you raise will ultimately go to change lives through research.
The Lustgarten Foundation has been hard hit by cancelled fundraising events and decreased donations from economic insecurity. We’re counting on you to help us raise the critical funds necessary to keep pancreatic cancer research on pace for discovering earlier detection methods and newer, more effective treatment options.
LET’S DO THIS!
What’s a virtual walk?
Glad you asked! Simply put, a virtual walk is a symbolic, online fundraising event. Just register for the virtual walk of your choice, then, on the day and time of your chosen event, wear purple and take a walk on your own or with a small group of family and friends. Watch this quick, two-minute video to learn more about what it means to participate as a virtual walker.
