Legislator Joshua A. Lafazan Shines Spotlight on the Lustgarten Foundation’s Mission to Cure Pancreatic Cancer
Nassau County Legislator Joshua A. Lafazan meets with Linda Tantawi, CEO, Jennie Fortunoff, Board Member, and Kerri Kaplan, President of the Lustgarten Foundation (Woodbury, NY).

(WOODBURY, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Joshua A. Lafazan (D-Woodbury) met with members of the Lustgarten Foundation and presented them with a citation to honor the important research they are leading for pancreatic cancer—a devastating disease with a five-year survival rate of just 11%. The Lustgarten Foundation has raised more than $250 million to support groundbreaking research in early detection, new treatments and personalized medicine aimed at giving patients the best chance for survival and quality of life. 100% of all donations fund pancreatic cancer research.

“By meeting with members of the Lustgarten Foundation, I hope to bring awareness to both pancreatic cancer research as well as the work the Lustgarten Foundation is doing every day to help patients and their families,” said Legislator Josh Lafazan. “Through continued support of the Lustgarten Foundation, I’m confident that doctors and researchers will make advancements toward finding a cure for pancreatic cancer.”

“We are honored to have the recognition of Nassau County Legislator Josh Lafazan,” said Linda Tantawi, CEO, Lustgarten Foundation. “We hope with Mr. Lafazan’s continued support and partnership, we will be able to transform pancreatic cancer into a curable disease.”
