Recognition places Lustgarten in top 1% of nonprofits evaluated by the watchdog organization.
WOODBURY, NY – The Lustgarten Foundation believes research is fundamental. That’s why 100% of donations fund pancreatic cancer research. This singular focus on transforming pancreatic cancer into a curable disease, combined with the Foundation’s commitment to financial health, accountability and transparency, has earned Lustgarten its 13th consecutive 4-star Charity Navigator rating.
Only a quarter of nonprofits receive the distinction of Charity Navigator’s 4-star rating based on objective analysis, including 17 metrics focused on governance and ethical practices, as well as measures of openness and financial health. And less than 1% of evaluated organizations have achieved the coveted 4-star rating 13 or more consecutive times. Charity Navigator is the nation’s largest independent charity watchdog organization, evaluating ten times the number of nonprofit organizations as its closest competitors.
“The Lustgarten Foundation’s exceptional 4-star rating sets us apart from our peers and demonstrates the Foundation’s trustworthiness to the public,” said Linda Tantawi, Lustgarten CEO. “Achieving and maintaining this high-level rating is just one more way our supporters can trust their donations are not only going to fund pancreatic cancer research but also are being managed by a financially responsible and ethical charity.”
