Lustgarten Equity, Accessibility and Diversity (LEAD) Project

The Lustgarten Equity, Accessibility and Diversity (LEAD) Project supports investigators working to better understand barriers to pancreatic cancer clinical trial participation and retention among underrepresented groups and to develop and implement specific tools to increase clinical trial participation and retention. Diversity in clinical trials is important to ensure all cancer patients benefit from these research efforts.
All applications for clinical research (including use of human samples) must include statements detailing the demographic make-up of the cohort, catchment and institutional efforts to ensure equitable enrollment.

Proposals should be submitted from centers with a high volume of pancreatic cancer cases, are currently running clinical trials in pancreatic cancer, and seek to increase enrollment and retention of patients from underrepresented groups in clinical trials.

Applicants may request up to $150,000 per year (including no more than 10% indirect costs) for a maximum of 3 years and must submit proposals via Proposal Central.
