Jeopardy! The Greatest Of All Time
Topic: News
Who is the greatest Jeopardy! contestant of all time?
Answer: Tune in Tuesday, January 14th as the tournament continues!
Watch (and play along!) as Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter, and James Holzhauer (aka ‘Jeopardy James’) compete for the #JeopardyGOAT title in the “Greatest of All Time” tournament. The first contestant to win three matches will go down in history as the #JeopardyGOAT.
You can cheer your favorite contestant on or start your own #JeopardyGOAT tournament from the comfort of your own home. Invite friends and family over for a viewing party and challenge them to participate in a virtual tournament. For each correct answer, support the Lustgarten Foundation by donating $1, or another amount of your choosing, to pancreatic cancer research. Whether it’s $10, $100, or $1,000, every dollar makes a difference and 100% of every donation goes directly to pancreatic cancer research.
What is #WeLoveYouAlex?
Even though the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions has ended, please continue to join the tournament competitors – including “Jeopardy! James” Holzhauer, Dhruv Gaur and Steven Grade – in honoring Alex Trebek and the entire pancreatic cancer community by donating to research. Now through December 31, donate to our #WeLoveYouAlex campaign to increase awareness and funding for pancreatic cancer research.
If you missed it, Dhruv Gaur was the contestant and college champion who answered “We Love You, Alex” during the recent Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions. This answer choked up the beloved game show host and earned Dhruv a seat at The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he was presented with a $25,000 check from Shutterfly for the Lustgarten Foundation.
As the season of giving approaches, we hope you will join the movement to fund pancreatic cancer research. As Mr. Trebek said when he was first diagnosed, “Keep the faith and we’ll win. We’ll get it done.” With your support, we will definitely be able to “get it done” – by funding more research, we are moving closer to finding a cure.
We WELCOME you to our community and THANK YOU for your life-changing support!
Play Along to Support Research!
Join with Jeopardy! fans who are committed to raising awareness and funding for pancreatic cancer research! During the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions episodes airing on November 14-15, viewers are encouraged to donate $1 to the Lustgarten Foundation for each answer they guess correctly. And, thanks to separate funding to support administrative expenses, 100% of your donation goes directly to pancreatic cancer research.
Jeopardy! champion Steven Grade organized this play-along game in honor of host Alex Trebek and in memory of Larry Martin, a Jeopardy! Teachers Tournament champion who passed away from pancreatic cancer earlier this year.
Grade tweeted, “Play one night, play both nights, donate an amount that is right for you, or help spread the word to Jeopardy! watchers and non-watchers alike–every little bit helps, and every little bit helps to honor Alex, Larry, and all those who are fighting and have fought pancreatic cancer.” Donate Now.
Alex Trebek Lends His Voice To Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month
We are grateful that Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek has shared his story and helped to raise global awareness for pancreatic cancer and Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month with his PSA for the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition. Join us throughout the month of November as we unveil our new #PutTheUinCURE social media campaign and encourage you to get involved, and as we highlight the need for continued research, more effective treatments, and methods to help diagnose this disease at an earlier stage.
“Keep the faith and we’ll win.” — Alex Trebek
On March 6th, television icon Alex Trebek, who has hosted Jeopardy, America’s Favorite Quiz Show®, since 1984, announced that he was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer in a video posted to the show’s official YouTube account. On behalf of our community of patients, caregivers, researchers, loved ones and survivors all impacted by this disease, we are sending Mr. Trebek our thoughts and best wishes for his treatment and recovery.
Mr. Trebek joins more than 56,000 other Americans who will be diagnosed this year. Pancreatic cancer is often called a silent disease because many times no signs or symptoms are noticed until the cancer is in an advanced stage, when surgery is typically not an option and effective treatments are limited.
Mr. Trebek is not letting this prognosis discourage him from fighting. As he shares in his video message, “I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease…Keep the faith and we’ll win. We’ll get it done.”
At the Lustgarten Foundation, we are relentlessly focused on “getting it done.” Pancreatic cancer research is moving faster than ever before, and there has never been a more hopeful time for patients. The researchers we fund are committed to identifying new treatments and tailoring therapy to each patient. We are dedicated to changing patients’ lives and making sure that many more patients become long-term survivors.
Today and every day, we stand with Mr. Trebek, his loved ones and fans, and the thousands of other patients courageously fighting this disease and inspiring us to support even more research. Please know we are with you as you navigate through this disease, and we will not quit until a cure is found.
